		<description>My art tutor would not be impressed by those hyper-real oil paintings. 

They are almost certainly done from photoreference and since they a) necessitate the taking of a photograph and b) are almost indistinguishable from a photograph, we have to ask c) why not just take a photograph and frame it, and then spend all that painting time on something more self-expressive?

There are well documented techniques for accurately transcribing photos into pencil or paint. All it takes is lots and lots of time and a complete lack of imagination.
