I thought it was too good to be true! My repaired xbox isn't 100% at all. I've had one red light on one occasion so far (thats in the 2 days since I've had it back) and it does this weird thing where it turns on, but there's no signal to tv or amp and no ring of light. I have to keep turning it off and on until it boots up properly. So, it looks like the clock's ticking b4 I send it back again. I feel like my xbox is tainted. I have no confidence in it anymore. I sense santa bringing me something sony this christmas.....

when I sent off my red ringed x-box 360, I removed the peripherals (including the hard drive) and I received an xbox back. With a new hard drive!

Perhaps this balances x-box karma.

On the bright side, you got your machine back. According to Microsoft's website, my post-RROD Lazarus was handed to UPS on Tuesday afternoon to come back to me. According to UPS's tracking system, they're still waiting to receive it. Neither is prepared to admit there's a problem with this inconsistency yet, despite it already having gone on for longer than it took UPS to ship the machine to Frankfurt in the first place. Arrgh!

Great. I've done exactly the same. Sent off my fried rrod xbox off a week and a half ago with rock band in the bloody tray. Got a bunch of mates over to play one night, got the rrod the moment i fired up and completely forgot about the disc. Contacted xbox after i realised my foolish mistake so they could log it. I was promised my game back. Was I convinced - No. And now i've read this.....May as well just go buy another copy....

They didn't explain on the phone but I presume it's the thing where you stick a pin in a manual eject hole on the DVD drive like on a PC or something.

Even so, you certainly can't access that without taking the front cover off first. The guy on the phone said I should have called in for advice before sending the machine off...

What are your options in terms of getting he disc out, surely if they provide you with no information about the manual technique then they can't blame you for not using it.

Also, what happens if you ring back today, say the machine has broken and it has your rock band disc stuck in it? If they say there's no way to get it out will they replace it pre-repair?
