Chewing Pixels is a collection of published writing by Simon Parkin, an award-winning writer and journalist from England.
Described by the New Statesman as “one of the most effortless and masterly voices in video game writing” he has contributed to The New Yorker, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Edge magazine and many others over the past decade, writing both criticism and journalism from the front-lines of video game culture.
Parkin was a contributing writer to 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die, released internationally in 2010, as well as multiple editions of the Guinness Gamer’s Book of Records. His sole-authored book, The Illustrated History of Video Games will be published by Anness Publishing in 2013.
Parkin also contributed to the BAFTA-award winning webgame Bow Street Runner, and conceived and wrote the controversial Sweatshop, a game that seeks to investigate the pressures and complexities of the sweatshop system.
